KEVIN BOONE - GUITARS & VOCALS
If Ralph's drums are Mark4's engine, then it's Kevin Boone's crisp leads and powerful rhythm guitar play that fills the gas tank. His guitar influences are widespread; from Pete Townsend and Keith Richards to Angus Young.

What first got you interested in music?
My older brother came home from Germany where he was stationed in the Army. He brought some excellent stereo equipment, so I started listening to the music he was listening to, particularly the Beatles; my brother Chris, for introdcing me to rock and roll; and my mother, for buying me my first good guitar and amp.
Why do you do music?: I do music because it can bring me to places emotionally that most peoplecan’t experience. There’s an intimacy between me and the music that I really love. Making music also forces me to grow, and I like that. I also really like the comradery felt among band members.
Best gig ever played?: Hmmm, maybe the New Years Eve gig we played to ring in 2023 up at the Hotel Leger in Mokelumne Hill. That was a really good time!
If you could have played in any band in history, which would it be? Oh, definitely The Beatles. I was absolutely obsessed with them when I was growing up. I read so many books about them. They are the greatest, and I’m super glad that MARK IV is starting to cover some of their songs.
If you could thank anybody for their contribution to your music who would it be? Probably my old friend Mario. I would stop by his house after middle school and he was playing things like "Stairway to Heaven" on his guitar. I was hooked. He got me into playing guitar when I was 13.
What is your goal or vision for MARK IV?: I’d like to be playing out regularly around 2 or 3 times per month. I’d like to keep growing musically and learn all kinds of great songs.
What other bands have you been in? I was in a band called Just 4 Kicks about 20 years ago, and one called The Industrial City Band, from 2012 to 2016.
